Summer is a great time to go out to events with friends and make memories. However, choosing a makeup look to put on that is not your everyday makeup could be difficult. There are just so many looks to choose from!

Want to look like a dream so much that people who would see you would be inspired to write in rhymes? Follow these steps and look glowing towards the gods on your evening out.

Before anything else, skin prep! Tone and moisturize or prime your face before putting on your makeup. Beauty starts with a good base.

For the makeup. start with covering your blemishes and dark circles with concealer. For this step, I used Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 20 Sand, dabbing the product onto my skin with a sponge instead of dragging it across, as the formula tends to be dry. You can also opt to use color-correcting creams if you feel the need to cover up more specific skin concerns.

For the rest of my face, I used the Maybelline Super BB Super Cover in 02 Medium, using a stippling motion with a sponge to apply it on my face to absorb the product better.

For people with dry skin type like mine, I recommend a liquid- or cream-type foundation like this BB cream. Powder foundation does not guarantee coverage at it tends to be and liquid- or cream-type foundations fade away more mercifully than powder foundation, which may cake on dry skin. Plus, it also gives you the Korean chok-chok or glowy, glass skin.

However, powder foundation would best suit you if you have oily skin as it prevents the face from looking shiny as time passes by.

Following my liquid foundation base, I put on cream contour and highlight. For this step, I used the Nichido Contour & Highlight Duo Stick in Medium.

Place the cream contour on the parts of your face you want to appear thinner. For this look, I contoured the outer part of my face, below my cheekbones, my jawline and chin for my face to appear smaller. I also contoured my nose to appear thinner and higher by applying the product on the sides of my nose as well as around and below the tip.

Then, I used the highlighter on the features I wanted to pop out or enhance. Particularly, I applied the product on my T-zone or the area between my eyebrows, and on the nose bridge, on my undereyes, cheekbones, and chin. For a highlighting tip, imagine the parts of your face you want to glow when struck by light! Those are the parts where you should put your highlighter.

Make sure to blend each portion well so everything looks seamless and natural!

For good measure, I went in for a subtle powder contour using the Detail Makeover Ecru Squad Palette. This is actually an eyeshadow palette, but it could also serve multiple functions. I used the shade a dark cool-toned brown (Buff) around my face and a light tan shade (Thatch Brown) on the sides of my nose.

Lightly dab the sponge you used to apply your concealer and foundation over your powder contour to erase any harsh lines for the look to remain natural.

I also used the Detail Makeover Ecru Squad Palette as eyebrow powders, applying them with an angled brush. I used the brown shade (Buff) all over my eyebrows and the black shade (Andiron) on the ends of my eyebrows. Then, I buffed my eyebrows with a spoolie to blend the shades into my eyebrows to look natural.

You can also choose to clean up your brows and make the lines sharper and more even by putting concealer above and under your eyebrows then blending the product into your skin.

The eyeshadow is the focal point of this makeup look. For the base, I used the Vice Cosmetics Awra Blush in Applauded, a subtle pink mauve shade, and applied it all over my eyelids.

Then, I layered the Ever Bilena Advance Cheek Color in Mandarin from the middle to the outer corner of my eyelids. This shade may look like a bright orange from the packaging, but it could also be blended into a light peach shade. I blended the two colors together but kept the orange away from the inner corners of my eyes.

Next, I used the Chica y Chico One Shot Eye Palette in Night Drink specifically the shade Red Eye, which is a shimmery bronze shade, applying it all over my eyelids using my fingers. The shade applies very smoothly on the skin, making it easy to blend using your fingers.

On the outer corner of my eyelids, I used the shade Coffee Cocktail from the same eyeshadow palette for a subtle smoky eye. Coffee Cocktail is a black-brown shade with a small amount of silver and green glitters. I blended the shade to make it look softer and more seamless with the rest of my eyeshadow but kept it on the outer corner of my eyelids.

To amplify and complete the eyeshadow look, I used the shimmery gold shade from the Rimmel Magnif'eyes Shadow Palette in 003 Grunge Glamour from the inner corner to the center of my eyelids, near the tear duct, and under the eyes.

This should create an orange to rose gold gradient from the outer to the inner corner of your eyelids which could be likened to a sunset.

For my eyeliner, I used the shade Andiron from the Detail Makeover Ecru Squad Palette, applying it with an angled brush. I kept my eyeliner thin and winged it out just enough to keep it simple. Applying eyeliner helps make your eyes look stronger or brighter, depending on how it is drawn.

After curling my lashes, I used the Missha 4D Mascara, which does an excellent job at volumizing and lengthening your lashes without the product clumping. After the product has settled onto my lashes, I curled them again and went in for another layer of mascara. Don't forget to put mascara on your lower lashes as well for brighter-looking eyes!

For my blush, I mixed the Vice Cosmetics Awra Blush in Applauded and the Ever Bilena Advance Cheek Color in Mandarin I previously used on my eyelids. Take note to keep your blush light, so it does not overcast your eyeshadow.

To stay true to the shimmery, glowing look, I lightly highlighted my cheekbones, brow bone, the tip of my nose, nose bridge, and cupid’s bow with the same shimmery gold shade from the Rimmel Magnif'eyes Shadow Palette in 003 Grunge Glamour I used on my eyelids.

Finally, to complete the look, I used the Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Sexy Nude as the base of my lipstick and then applied the The Better Cosmetix Lip Stain in Rose at the center of my lips then lightly smudged it outwards to create a velvet-y lip.

You can also opt to use a setting spray to make your makeup last longer. A good one is the Nichido Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray.

Tada! There you have it. This look will certainly make you glow beautifully like a dream under the summer moonlight. If you were to follow this makeup tutorial, where will you take this summer evening look?
